Guilty or Innocent One Will Never Truly Know.

I have followed this case from the beginning and have read every book so far on this tragedy. Each media statement, update or book has had me believing that Amanda Knox was innocent one minute and then the next she was guilty. We will never truly know if Amanda and Rafaelle did commit this horrific crime. We can only assume that they are innocent and the family of Meredith will not stop looking for the real murder. However, Nina Burleigh's The Fatal Gift of Beauty-The Trials of Amanda Knox, is a down and out incredible read, and for those of you, who have made up your minds about Ms. Amanda Knox's guilt or innocence, you need to bend your heads and beg for mercy, this book is an eye opener. Vividly written and researched, Burleigh takes the reader on a astonishing ride, guiding and winding us through the intertwined fabric of Amanda's family, friends, and the difficult array of her personal demons, lusts and fears. Not so fast, for in addition, this book probes into the personal lives of all the players, from her lover to her prosecutor, from the demonic Rudy Guede to the heartbreaking victim of a savagely brutal murder, Meredith Kercher-- their sins, their desires and their prejudices, and it all happens under the banner of a magnificent Italian country town, Perugia, where the culture is xenophobic, memorable and historically rich. It matters not that the rulings are in, by Italian standards anyway, for this is a yarn unfolding, and The Fatal Gift of Beauty rests in the lap of the interested. Take this book to bed, enter a labyrinth of innocence, sophistication, charm, beauty, evil, intelligence, innuendo and circumstance, and when you come across at the other end of this bridge, you will have a change of heart the trust you have for foreign justice and the solidity of American pride on foreign soil; you will recognize that you never knew Amanda Knox at all.
